The CSMGA,
formerly the Macon Civic Chorale, is a volunteer organization made up of
singers from throughout the middle Georgia area. The CSMGA was founded in 1975
and has been providing choral music to the area for over thirty years. CSMGA is dedicated to the performance of masterworks from the vast body of choral repertoire. The 2010-2011
season included Fauré’s Requiem, Brahms’s Liebeslieder Waltzes, Handel’s Messiah, Rutter's Te Deum and Duruflé's Requiem.
The group is conducted by interim artistic director Dr.
John H. Dickson and accompanied by Dr. Carol Goff. Mr. Charles Huber is CSMGA president. The group
rehearses in the choral room of Townsend School of Music at Mercer University
on Monday evenings, and auditions are held in the fall.
